Weleda Skin Food is a deep-penetrating replenishing skin repair cream for dry patches of skin and for added winter protection. Contains extracts of soothing chamomile, calendula wild pansy and a blend of enriching oils and waxes to provide a fine protective barrier against the ravages of wind and weather. Even before the addition of the plant extracts and essential oils the base itself is food for dry skin. Lanolin, almond oil and sesame oil are three of the main ingredients of the base. Lanolin, chemically, is almost identical to sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin. It is therefore an ideal substance to `feed' to dry skin. Both almond and sesame oil soften and soothe the skin and also assist in the penetration of other soothing, rejuvenating ingredients. Weleda Skin Food can be used as a nourishing day and night cream. It is good for rough, dry skin anywhere on the body; face, hands, elbows, knees etc. It can be used as a protective cream in harsh weather and is excellent for anyone regularly out of doors. Directions for using Weleda Skin Food: Apply sparingly as required. Gently smooth into the skin. On the face avoid area around the eyes. Intensive care for hard working hands: apply liberally, cover with cotton gloves and leave overnight. Weleda Skin Cream Range Our cream bases are made from unbleached beeswax and precious plant oils which assist the absorbance of the plant extracts into the skin structure, to moisturise and help prevent the signs of premature ageing. They can also help protect against the ravages of wind and weather.
